This big, happy goofball is just over a year old and currently around 79 lbs. He's a German Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix. He loves receiving hugs, soaking up all the pets, and hanging out with his people. He's a huge fan of running around outside, chasing balls, being chased around, solving food puzzles, and chewing on sticks he finds in the yard. He also adores snow and is comfortable with regular grooming. He knows commands like sit, down, wait, shake, and crate, and he's potty trained. He's working on his leash walking after some cold-weather regression, and he's still improving on "come." He can be high-energy and playful when it's time to play, but in the best way. He's crate trained and can stay in his crate for several hours when needed. His current family is absolutely devastated to be looking for a new home for him, but they want what's best for Apollo — a family who will give him all the love, structure, exercise, and patience he deserves.
Ideal Home
Apollo would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and someone who works from home or can give him plenty of exercise and attention. He does not do well with cats (he gets too excited and plays way too rough), so he needs a cat-free home. He will do best with an active family ready for his size and energy.
Ongoing Health
Apollo has had some digestive issues early on, which may have been a reaction to NexGard Plus, but he's doing awesome now on Purina Sensitive Stomach food with added fiber and probiotics.
