Rocky

Rocky is a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever/Hound mix who weighs about 26 pounds. He was rescued from a difficult hoarding situation where he didn't receive much-needed socialization. As a result, Rocky can be a bit shy and cautious with new people, but he's a curious boy who is slowly learning to trust and that the world can be a safe and loving place. He truly thrives with other dogs and gains confidence from their presence. Rocky is playful, loves to romp, and enjoys zoomies and wrestling matches with his canine companions. He's also happy to snuggle up with his furry friends for a nap. Rocky is gentle and does well with cats and respectful older children who understand his need for space and time. While he may not be a dog who immediately asks for cuddles, watching him grow and gain confidence will be an incredibly rewarding journey for his adopter.

Ideal Home

Rocky needs a calm, patient home with at least one confident resident dog to help guide him. He can also coexist with cats and respectful older children who understand he will need time and space to adjust.

Ongoing Health

Rocky is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Rocky is a "project dog" who needs an adopter with patience and compassion who will let him move at his own pace. His confidence grows with canine companions, and he will continue to blossom with love and consistency.

Transporation

Rocky is currently located in Berkeley Heights, NJ. We rescue dogs from kill shelters in SC + GA, and they live in foster homes in NJ until they are adopted.
