Mavi is a sweet, sensitive 1-year-old male Shepherd Mix, weighing in at 46 lbs. He recently moved to a quieter foster home where he's beginning to settle in, but it's become clear that busy city life is just too overwhelming for him. Mavi needs a calm home outside of a busy urban setting where he can feel safe, decompress, and build confidence at his own pace. Once he feels secure, his true personality emerges – a goofy, affectionate lovebug who enjoys curling up beside his people and soaking up attention. He also loves exploring the yard, playing with toys, and hanging out with his canine friends. Mavi is good with familiar people and can warm up to new ones with time and space.
Ideal Home
Mavi will thrive in a calm home outside of a busy urban setting. His forever home must have a well-balanced resident dog, ideally around the same age and energy level, as he takes comfort from canine companionship and feels more confident with a dog sibling. A fenced backyard is also a must for Mavi, as walks are still a work in progress and a safe outdoor space is crucial for him to run, explore, and decompress. He is not recommended for a home with cats.

Mavi is smart and food-motivated, enjoying training when he feels safe. He is fully potty trained, settles beautifully in his crate, and has lovely house manners. He can be left alone for short periods with a predictable routine. He is not good in the car, so his future family should be prepared for this. Mavi is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue to help him feel safe.
