Meet Lessie, a gentle and shy girl looking for a second chance at a happy life. She was found tied to a fence at our shelter in Mexico, but despite her past, she's incredibly sweet and enjoys the company of other dogs. Lessie is showing great progress with our trainer, gaining confidence and walking beautifully on leash. She can be a bit nervous in loud or overwhelming environments, so a patient and understanding adopter is key.
Ideal Home
Lessie would thrive in a quiet, calm, and predictable home. She needs a patient and experienced person who can help her feel safe and secure. Homes with teens or adults only are preferred, and a large yard or access to hiking trails would be wonderful for her. While not required, a home with another friendly dog would be a bonus.
Ongoing Health
Lessie is generally healthy and has no known medical conditions to report at this time.
Training & Support
Lessie is already potty trained and leash trained, which is fantastic! She's a bit shy initially and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and a patient approach to help build her confidence.
Application Details:
Applications to adopt Lessie start by contacting us through Wags. Please visit wags.com to begin your application process. We will review your application and may contact you for more information or a home check.
Transportation
Lessie is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We arrange for dogs to be transported to adopters in the US and Canada. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet your new pup at the airport to welcome them home. During the summer months, if a Canadian flight companion isn't available, dogs may fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border. We have successfully arranged for border pick-ups with the help of volunteers.
