ADOPTION FEE: $150
GOOD WITH CATS: Yes, but would recommend a dog savvy cat
GOOD WITH DOGS: Yes
GOOD WITH KIDS: Yes (10+ recommended)
KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit, Stay, Lay down
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING: Good but occasional accidents in kennel or around the house
KNOWN KENNELING: Kennels but whines and/or barks until settling down
KNOWN LEASH: Needs some leash work
KNOWN LIKES: Marker has a lot of energy and loves walks/would love to run around in a fenced yard. He is an early bird so forget sleeping in. He LOVES to play with squeaky toys, balls, his resident sister, anything.
His resident sister is a smaller, senior girl and sometimes he can be a little rough on her so recommend supervised play or a bigger dog. He likes to be outdoors. Most of all, he loves to follow his human and resident dog sister around. He is a cuddler and definitely wants to always be close to his person.
KNOWN DISLIKES: Marker does not like a lot of commotion (people, cars, noises). He has not been around kids but he is scared of the screaming, playing kids on the playground so I would suggest older kids/ calmer house. He may be a herding breed as he does nip gently at times but doing it less with correction.
On walks, he does tend to freeze up or want to pull the opposite direction when he sees other people/dogs. Strangers can be pretty terrifying for him so he will require patience but once he trusts you, he won't let you out of his sight (Velcro dog). He is eager to please his human and responds well to correction.
He doesn't prefer his kennel when he knows you are around and will whine on/off for a bit. He does kennel easily with a kong and no problems while we're gone at work (6ish hours).
FROM THE FOSTER: Marker is an energetic, shy, playful boy that requires patience to gain trust to show his loving, fun personality. Once he knows he's safe, he will be your best friend/ shadow and is eager to please you.
He loves to follow his senior sister around to learn how to be a dog and copy everything she does. He would do best with active humans and a bigger dog sister/brother to play with since he can be a little rowdy at times and still learning social ques from his sister which he responds well to. This handsome boy just wants a human to call his own and a home to be his safe place.
He would do best is a lower scenic stimulation environment with less people, cars, noises. He doesn't mind them from afar and enjoys people watching but very timid, anxious when approaching him or in his bubble.
