Meet Hazel! She's a 5 to 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier mix (our best guess!) with a story of survival that will melt your heart. This little fighter was found completely alone, severely emaciated, and covered in wounds from what appeared to be a terrible dog attack. At just 7 pounds, Hazel was given only a 50% chance of survival. But Hazel had other plans. Through determination, medical care, and lots of love, she beat the odds and has transformed into the happy, playful puppy she was always meant to be. Today, Hazel is full of life, love, and puppy energy. She absolutely adores people and wants nothing more than to be close to her family. Whether she's snuggled up beside you, following you around the house, or soaking up attention, Hazel is happiest when she's with her people. She loves playing with other dogs, enjoys her toys, and is finally getting to experience all the fun things a puppy should. Despite everything she's endured, Hazel has remained incredibly loving, trusting, and affectionate. Hazel is currently on the smaller side, and we estimate she will be around 25-35 pounds when fully grown. Because of her difficult start in life and the fact that her parents are unknown, this is only our best guess. Hazel has already overcome more hardship in her short life than most dogs ever will. Now she deserves a family that will show her what it means to be safe, cherished, and loved forever. Could you be the happy ending this brave little survivor has been waiting for?
