Rusty

Rusty is a spunky 4-5 year old neutered male Black Mouth Cur Shepherd mix who is ready for his forever home! He's a sturdy 50lbs and still has plenty of energy for playtime, with his favorite games being keep away and chase. Rusty is up-to-date on all his shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Ideal Home

Rusty would do best in an active home that includes him in daily family activities and adventures. He absolutely needs a fenced yard, as he is not off-leash trained, and would not be a good fit for an apartment. He can live with a couple, a single person, or a family with children older than 10 years old, as his exuberance might be too much for younger children. He is dog-friendly with medium and large breeds, both male and female, and could be an only dog or have a canine companion. His interaction with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and has been microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty is potty trained and crate trained, with no accidents in his foster home. He knows his basic commands and is motivated by food and treats. While he had some reported accidents in the shelter, his foster has found him to be perfect in this regard.
