Meet Sabo: part German Shepherd, part Saint Bernard, 100% oversized goofball with a heart as big as his paws. Sabo is the kind of dog who believes every day is leg day—and also play day, hike day, run day, and “let’s see what’s over that hill” day. If you’re looking for a couch potato, keep scrolling. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who thinks snowshoeing is a personality trait, congratulations—you’ve found your guy. He’s got the brains and alertness of a Shepherd mixed with the fluff and charm of a Saint Bernard, which basically means he can outsmart you and sit on you at the same time. Truly a special talent. Sabo loves other dogs and is basically the social director of any canine gathering. However, when it comes to young kids, he prefers to keep his distance. After spending over two years waiting for his chance at a real home, Sabo is more than ready to trade in his “homeless adventurer” status for a permanent gig as your best friend, trail partner, and snow-day enthusiast. He’s playful, outgoing, and always down for whatever you’re doing—as long as it involves movement and maybe snacks. Sabo has two years’ worth of love, energy, and tail wags saved up—and he’s ready to spend it all on you.

Ideal Home

Active humans, plenty of outdoor time, and a good sense of humor about dog hair. He prefers to keep his distance from young children.
