If you're looking for a wrinkly, cuddly, booty-scratch-loving best friend who will stick by your side and fill your days with sweetness, Butterscotch is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! Butterscotch is sweet as pie and a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you've ever seen. Her green eyes, adorable white socks, and golden glow make her a total heart-stealer, but her personality might be even better. She's the kindest dog that quietly works her way into your heart until one day you realize she's become your favorite little shadow. She is about 3 years old, weighs around 55 lbs, and is believed to be a Beagle/Lab mix. Butterscotch is a people-pleaser who opens up quickly with new friends and absolutely loves being close to her humans. She's a big cuddler, always nearby, following her foster like a shadow and even sleeping by her head every night. She has a calm, comforting presence, and when it comes to affection, she's all in. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, and she'll dramatically flop over for them, with booty scratches a close second. Don't be surprised if she decides your lap is hers, as she never got the memo that she's not a lap dog.
While she's a cuddle bug, she also enjoys the outdoors. She loves wandering around the backyard, soaking up the sunshine, and even dipping in a dog pool. Every evening, she and other foster dogs enjoy bursts of zoomies before settling down. She's not much of a toy dog but is content with a good chew stick. Be aware that squirrels can bring out her hunting dog instincts!
Ideal Home
Butterscotch has done wonderfully with other dogs of various ages and sizes and enjoys canine companions. She's not looking for a constant playmate but a companion with a similar calm tempo, though she does play in short bursts. She would also do well as the only pet. Cats are too exciting for her, so a cat-free home is recommended. She would do well in a house with a yard or an apartment, though she would love a backyard to explore.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Butterscotch may need a little time to decompress after going home, as she took a couple of weeks to settle into her foster home. Once she settled, she became a devoted shadow dog, which can make the bond even more special.
