Meet Ty!
Ty is a magnificent 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life. He's light on his feet, playful with humans and other dogs, and his smile lights up when he's excited, which is often! Ty has thrived in his foster home and does best with female pups or male dogs smaller than his 70lb frame. His sweet and buoyant nature makes him a wonderful match for families with active children, and he'd also be the perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. Ty loves to be included in all activities, from hikes and car rides to simply spending time with his people. He's an excellent traveler, happy whether riding shotgun or resting in his crate. DNA results show Ty is 52% Weimaraner with American Foxhound, Siberian Husky, and even a touch of Chow Chow mixed in.
Ideal Home
Ty would thrive in a home with active children, or as an adventure partner for an active single person or couple. He does best with female pups or male dogs smaller than his 70lb frame. A securely fenced backyard is a must for Ty to enjoy the outdoors. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
Ty is current on all vaccinations and is microchipped. He has been spayed/neutered and cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash but can sometimes get distracted by interesting scents. Continued leash training will help him stay focused. He already knows how to sit on command, especially for a treat, and is eager to continue learning.

Transportation
Ty is currently located in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing, which runs every 2-3 weeks. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
