Hank Jones is a sweet 8-year-old, 67 lb male Cattle Dog/Retriever mix who is looking for his forever home. Hank had a loving family until his mom passed away. He was fortunate to find a loving foster family who has been caring for him. Hank has lived with children, cats, other dogs, and even chickens and did well with them all. He is currently sharing his foster home with a cat who isn't a big fan of Hank's, so he's looking for a home where he can be the center of attention or at least have a more harmonious feline roommate. Hank has learned basic obedience and enjoys his walks. He was a bit overweight when he arrived, but with good nutrition and exercise, he's shed the extra pounds and is feeling much fitter. While Hank still has plenty of energy, he's primarily seeking a comfortable bed and an abundance of love. The love from an older pup is truly special, and we hope Hank finds a home that cherishes him. Hank will be neutered shortly before his transport.
Ideal Home
Hank would thrive in a home that can offer him a cozy bed and plenty of love. He has a history of doing well with children, cats, and other dogs, but his current foster situation has shown he might do best in a home without cats who aren't fond of him.
Ongoing Health
Hank will be neutered shortly before transport.
Training & Support
Hank has learned basic obedience and walks well on a leash. He has successfully lost excess weight through good nutrition and exercise.
