Turtle is a 5-year-old, 47lb sweetheart who originally came to us as a stray. He was adopted once, but sadly, his previous owner kept him crated most of the time. We believe Turtle deserves so much more! Despite his past, he remains a loving, gentle, and hopeful boy. He's a true cuddle bug who longs for a family that will cherish him, include him in their lives, and give him the attention he has always deserved.
Ideal Home
Turtle would thrive in a home that can offer him a real family, real love, and a real life. He would especially adore a fenced yard where he can relax and enjoy the sunshine with his people, perhaps while you garden or unwind by the pool.
Ongoing Health
All dogs adopted through Wags have received a thorough veterinary examination, including all routine annual vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), a heartworm test, fecal test, deworming, microchip, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and spay/neuter surgery. Dogs are also quarantined for two weeks outside the shelter to ensure they are healthy. Any known health issues will be disclosed. If a dog was treated for heartworm, they may test positive for up to 4-6 months after treatment. They will be placed on Heartguard/Ivermectin to kill larvae, and a re-test is recommended 5-6 months after the last treatment. Owners are responsible for all follow-up veterinary care after adoption.
