Candy

Candy is a 3-year-old female dachshund mix who weighs about 13 pounds. She's a sweet girl with a lot of personality, named after the Dolly Parton song "Hard Candy Christmas." Candy is from the Smokies and, like the song, has had a bit of a rough start, but her future is bright! She absolutely adores cheese and celery, and her favorite toy is a stuffed pig.

Candy has really come out of her shell with the help of her foster siblings and a loving home environment. While she's not a big cuddler, she does enjoy gentle pets when she's relaxing on the couch. She's a bit shy and prefers to eat treats in the privacy of her crate, but she'll occasionally accept one from her foster parents.

Ideal Home

Candy would thrive in a home with at least one other dog to help her feel comfortable. A securely fenced-in yard is a must for her to explore and play safely. She needs a patient family who understands she'll take some time to warm up and adjust to a new environment.

Ongoing Health

Candy is up to date on all her vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and dewormed. She is also on monthly flea and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Candy is already crate-trained and is house-trained with regular potty breaks. She is still working on her leash skills and is not yet comfortable on walks. She will reward patient humans with her adorable antics once she feels secure.
