We think this handsome, unique-coated fella is a Pitbull mix, weighing in at a perfectly sturdy 47 lbs. He is a big dog with an even bigger heart! He's small enough to believe he is a lap dog, and who are we to tell him otherwise. About that tongue! It is truly the main event; a massive, happy pink marvel that is constantly unfurled, showcasing his pure joy. When it comes to Groundhog, the forecast is always "Tongues out!" even when the sun isn't out, because he's just a happy guy!

Groundhog is currently thriving in a loving foster home, where he has officially claimed the title of Master of the House! He is currently getting all the best social practice, as he is fostered with an older dog, a small dog, and even a cat! According to his foster family, his absolute best quality (besides that adorable tongue!) is his incredible goofiness; he is a total comedian who keeps everyone laughing. He is a super affectionate, hang-out kind of guy who loves the comforts of home life and soaking up every single head rub he can get. He's a sensitive, sweet gentleman who tackles every day with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy!

Ideal Home

Groundhog's dream home includes a fenced-in yard where he can zoom, "boogie," and sunbathe to his heart's content while he builds up his confidence on the leash. He's looking for a family that understands that the best things in life are worth a little extra love and patience. He would be best paired with a low to medium energy dog, but is also perfectly happy to be your one and only star. We can arrange a kitty slumber party to see if he'd be willing to share a spot on the couch with a tiny tiger.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
