Hello, my name is Woody Harrelson! I'm a 54 lb, neutered male hound mix, born around April 3rd, 2025. I was found as a stray and had quite the adventure before finding my way to safety. For months, I was the unofficial mayor of the neighborhood, always leading other dogs to food left out by a kind person. It took a while to catch me because I was so used to being independent, and I even had a run-in with another animal that left me injured. Thankfully, a wonderful foster mom was able to earn my trust and rescue me, giving me the chance to live the happy life I deserve.
I took some time to warm up to people, but with patience and lots of tasty treats, I blossomed into a loyal, loving, and goofy companion. I absolutely adore affection, playing, running in the backyard, and just enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Because I'm still a bit reserved, I'm looking for a quieter environment where I can continue to feel safe and secure. I found so much comfort and confidence around other dogs, so I'd do best in a home with a friendly canine pal to guide me. I love playing with my furry friends but also enjoy just being near them. I'm a good boy and eager to please, so training is going really well!
I have a soft spot for my teddy bear, cozy beds, belly rubs, and playing with a dog buddy. I'm an incredible dog who's always thrilled to see you, greeting you with a big smile and a wagging tail. I can adapt to the energy in a room like a champ and would be the perfect companion for someone willing to give me a chance to shine. Could that someone be you?

I need a quieter environment where I can feel safe and continue to build my confidence. A home with a confident canine pal would be ideal for me to learn from and feel secure.

I'm still learning and gaining confidence, but I am eager to please and training is going well. I would benefit from a patient owner who can continue to help me feel safe and secure.
