Mookie has found his forever home!

Hello there! I'm Mookie, a 1.5-year-old Boston Terrier mix who currently weighs 24 pounds, and I'm still growing! I came to Wags from a breeder and am now looking for my loving, forever family. I'm currently being fostered in Des Moines, Iowa.

Everything is still quite new to me, but I can tell you I am the sweetest, funniest, big-little boy! I'm happy to be held and cuddled, and I'm very gentle and docile. I've been going to work with my foster parent daily and have been a wonderful companion. I have excellent manners at the shop and mostly enjoy napping!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a home that understands I'm not a big fan of being alone in a crate just yet. I'll need a patient family willing to continue working with me on this, helping me see my crate as a safe space while I adjust. I might do best as the only dog, or I might thrive with a playful canine companion to show me the ropes.

Ongoing Health

I'm a healthy pup with no special needs! All Wags dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

Training & Support

I'm working on my housetraining and crate training, and I'm making great progress with a consistent schedule! I'm also learning to walk nicely on a leash. While I'm generally confident, sounds in the neighborhood, like other dogs barking, can startle me, and I may bark back. I calm down quickly, especially if my resident Boston buddies do.
