Riley

Riley is OFFICIALLY up for adoption! After two years in his foster home and a lot of dedication, this very special boy deserves to go to a forever home that won't send him back. He has a GIANT personality packed into a small body and is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who will take things at his pace. Riley loves affection, but only on his terms, and he's not shy about letting you know what he wants with a bark! He's incredibly treat-motivated, so a cheese puff might just convince him to move mountains.

Ideal Home

Riley would do best in a home with adults only, as he can become anxious around children. He is fine with calm, smaller dogs but will not do well with big or young dogs, as they can overwhelm him. He was used to people food before coming to us, and we ask that adopters do not give him any table scraps to avoid obsessive behavior and potential health issues like pancreatitis.

Ongoing Health

Riley is current on all vaccines and is neutered. He had a dental procedure in December, his second with us, and is now missing most of his teeth. He eats dry food that has been soaked in water. Riley also has a specific diet that works for him and can get an upset stomach if it's changed.

Training & Support

Riley requires patience and understanding. He needs security and someone to let him approach them on his own time. He can be nippy if his space isn't respected, so it's important not to push or rush him. While he is not on medication with us, he may require short-term medication in a new home depending on his adjustment. He has a crate that he uses as a safe space and prefers to go into with the door left open.
