Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur and distinctive white markings on my nose. I am SO happy all the time and absolutely love to snuggle. I enjoy sleeping near a warm oven and have a special fondness for the snow! My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, perhaps due to a mix of Border Collie or something similar. I arrived with my brother and sister from New Mexico, though my memories from that time are limited as I was quite young.
I'm already potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out by laying by the door. I'm also kennel trained, but I admit I'm not a fan of being confined. I can escape my kennel and tend to bark when inside, but I promise not to destroy anything if left out while you're away – I just prefer not to be crated. At night, I love to sleep as close to my foster mom as possible for warmth. I know commands like sit, stay, wait, and come, and I'm currently working on down and off.
Food is a major motivator for me, especially peanut butter and yogurt! While I don't get table scraps, I do receive plenty of tasty treats and will do anything for them. I can be a bit overzealous when taking treats, but my foster mom is helping me learn to be gentle by having me sit and saying "gentle" when giving them.
I live with a wonderful 10-year-old foster sister and have met her friends. I can be a little shy with new people, especially children, and may bark initially until I feel comfortable. However, I mean no harm and will shower you with kisses once I warm up. Because I'm still learning my manners, a family with older, dog-savvy children would be ideal. I'm unsure about cats, but I absolutely adore other dogs! I am my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog, and he needs to be near me at all times. I love to play with my nearly two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, enjoying games of tug, keep away, and chase. My nearly four-year-old, 96lb foster brother tolerates my playful nudges, though I need to be gentle as he's recovering from surgery. My favorite activities with my canine companions include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also thoroughly enjoy neighborhood walks.
Ideal Home
A family with older, dog-savvy children, another dog to be my companion, and an active lifestyle would be perfect. Sharing a bed for snuggles is a must!
