I'm Tracker, a 4-year-old bundle of joy with long, velvety ears perfect for snuggling! I may be a bit older, but I have the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy. My past was a little ruff, as I was hit by a car and had to have surgery on my pelvis and leg. But thanks to some wonderful humans, I've healed and am ready for a full life, even if I have a bit of a hop when I run! My foster mom helps me stretch daily, which makes me feel much better.
I am the happiest boy you'll ever meet! I adore people and other dogs, and I'm a professional cuddler who loves to nuzzle and give kisses. I sleep soundly in my crate at night and am pretty much house-trained. I don't bark much, preferring to wag my tail and make new friends. I get along great with my beagle sister in my foster home and would love a dog friend. I also enjoy car rides and have a penchant for fuzzy toys and things to chew (though I'm not a fan of peanut butter or cheese). I'm still working on my commands and leash skills, but I'm a very eager learner!
Ideal Home
A secure fence is an absolute must for me, as I have a strong prey drive and love to chase rabbits, making small pets unsafe in my home. I can also dart out the door if not watched closely, so a fenced yard will keep me safe and close to you. Due to my past trauma, I can be scared of cars, so sidewalk walks can be a bit stressful as I watch every vehicle go by. I'm working on overcoming this anxiety. I also tend to chew on things I shouldn't when left alone, so I'll need a crate or a secure space when you leave, at least initially. While I'm unsure about cats, I only gave one a brief sniff.
Ongoing Health
I had FHO surgery on my pelvis and leg due to injuries from being hit by a car. My vet says I will have a great life but may have slightly less flexibility and a hop when I run. My foster mom ensures I stretch daily to keep my leg comfortable.
Training & Support
I'm eager to learn commands and improve my leash skills, though I'm still working on them. I need a secure place like a crate when left alone as I can chew on inappropriate items.
