Meet Axel Rose, a charming 26lb Basenji/Terrier mix with an estimated birthday of 4/5/2024. Axel is on the lookout for a loyal sidekick with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He's the perfect size for all kinds of adventures, from exciting outings to cozy cuddles. Axel is a friendly boy who absolutely adores other dogs of all sizes and loves making new canine friends.

When it comes to people, Axel has a unique way of introducing himself. He loves to "talk" and will happily let you know he'd love some attention. Once you approach him and say hello, his barks quickly turn into tail wags and affection. He simply wants to be noticed and loved! Axel is already potty trained and does well inside the home. One of his favorite pastimes is relaxing on the couch, watching the world go by through the window. Don't let his laid-back side fool you, though; he also loves to zoom around the backyard and stretch his legs outdoors. Axel is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a family willing to help him continue building confidence on walks.

Axel's story began when he was discovered abandoned inside an empty apartment. Thankfully, a compassionate foster stepped up and gave him a second chance at life. Despite being left behind, Axel remains incredibly loving, trusting, and ready to find a family who will never leave him again. We don't yet know how Axel feels about cats, but he can be kitty-tested for interested adopters. Transporation

Axel is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and can take him to your state or a neighboring state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles converted for dog transport. Adopters can track the transport van using the Life360 app and receive updates. Facebook chats are also available to stay informed on transport tracking.
