Keanu is a handsome 2-year-old Shepherd Mix with a sandy-brown coat, a playful spirit, and a whole lot of love to give. He's a big dog with an even bigger heart, weighing around 60 pounds and still learning the ropes of home life. Keanu is sweet, affectionate, and loves to snuggle just as much as he enjoys chasing a ball or heading out for an adventure. He's highly motivated by both food and praise, and you can tell he genuinely wants to connect with his people and make them happy.
Ideal Home
Keanu has a high to very high energy level and will thrive in a home that can provide plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation. He would likely do best as the only dog in the home or with experienced adopters who can confidently manage a multi-dog household. He has not been tested with children and would likely do best in a home without small kids, as he can be rowdy and exuberant. A cat-free home would be the safest fit due to his high prey drive.

Training & Support
Keanu is about 75% house-trained and gives subtle cues when he needs to go outside, so his adopter will need to stay attentive. He is not yet crate-trained and may bark or whine when confined, and he can be vocal when left alone. On leash, Keanu is strong and can be quite pully, especially when he spots rabbits or squirrels, so he will benefit from consistent leash training and guidance. He knows "sit," with other commands like "down," "stay," and "drop" in progress. He can be a bit nervous at times, but he is not aggressive. A patient, consistent adopter will help him feel secure and succeed.

- If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit, a meet and greet is scheduled.
- We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along.
- We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption.
- A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
