Meet Wanda, our beloved "little miss wiggle butt"! This sweet 8-year-old, 54lb female Pit Bull Terrier mix was sadly on the euthanasia list in a Georgia shelter due to space, her age, and length of stay. Thankfully, a kind rescue volunteer saw the treasure she is and refused to let her story end there. Now safe and thriving in a foster home in New England, Wanda is proving every day what an exceptional companion she is. She is full of life, love, and personality, and she's ready to bring joy to her forever home.
Wanda absolutely lights up when her people are around. Whether you've just walked through the door or simply stepped out of the room, Wanda greets you with her signature full-body wiggle. She enjoys the simple pleasures: playing with toys, relaxing in a fenced yard, going for walks, and snuggling up with her person. She's also happy to hop in the car for a ride.
Ideal Home
Wanda is looking for a patient and understanding family who can give her time to settle in and adjust to new routines and life as part of a household. She would be very happy to have the house and family all to herself, but with slow introductions and patience, we feel she could potentially live with another dog.
Ongoing Health
Wanda is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm, and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Wanda is house-trained and doing well. She may try to counter surf if something smells tasty, but she stops when corrected. She is working on her manners and learning her name and basic commands. She is smart and eager to please, and since she's very food-motivated, training should continue to go smoothly. She will pull a bit on leash, so more training and walks will help her improve.
