Seth is waiting for you.... Looking for a Loyal Buddy?
Seth, affectionately known as JimmySeth, is a charming adult Treeing Walker Coonhound with a heart full of love and a nose made for adventure! Seth was found starving and struggling, but is recovering nicely and can’t wait to find his forever family. He is a friendly and affectionate boy who gets along well with other dogs and has experience living in a foster home. Seth is housetrained and crate trained, and happy to sleep all night in his own bed next to yours. He's a true "Velcro dog" who loves being close to his people and has a gentle, loving personality. Seth is an outdoor enthusiast and his happy place is a backyard where he can sniff, explore, and enjoy the fresh air. He's happiest when he has room to roam and enjoy the outdoors. Seth is very food-motivated, which makes him fun to train and easy to reward, but be sure to keep snacks and treats stored safely out of reach. Once Seth decides you're his person, he's all in. He's a classic Velcro dog who loves to stay close to the people who feed him, care for him, and show him affection. Whether you're working around the house, relaxing on the couch, or heading out into the yard, Seth will happily be your faithful shadow and devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Seth would thrive with someone who appreciates hound dogs, enjoys walks or backyard play time, and wants a loyal companion with a sweet nature and a zest for life. Seth would do best with a patient adopter who can help him continue building confidence when left alone. He does not enjoy being confined in a crate all day – he does well with 4 hours or less – and can become stressed when locked up for a long time. However, he may do well being left loose in a safe, dog-proofed area of the home. A doggie sibling would probably reduce his concerns greatly.
Ongoing Health
Seth’s only medical issue is that his hair and skin suffered greatly when he was abandoned. His hair is now growing back and his skin is healing, but keep an eye on his scratching and reach out to your vet for help so Seth doesn’t suffer or regress to poor skin health again.
