Toby is an 8-month-old, 10 lb Shih Tzu mix who is already at his full adult size. He's full of life, energy, and happiness, and loves to explore. Toby was surrendered by his previous owners due to apartment pet limits, but he's ready for a fresh start. This little guy would be a fantastic companion for children, as he adores them and enjoys playing and running around together. Toby is eager for adventures and would be your most loyal sidekick, always ready to explore the world with you. If you're looking for a dog who will be your shadow, Toby is the one! He is house and crate trained, though he much prefers not to be in his crate. He may have slight separation anxiety, so a home where someone is around most of the time or with other dogs to keep him company would be ideal. Toby is an escape artist, so he cannot be left alone in a backyard. He loves to sleep in your bed and cuddle on the couch after a fun day of playing. Toby is friendly, energetic, loving, gentle, and playful, and can't wait to find his forever home.
Ideal Home
Toby would thrive in an active home with children. He cannot be left alone in a backyard due to his escape artist tendencies. A home where someone is present more often than not, or with other dogs, is a must for Toby.
Ongoing Health
Toby is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and dewormed. He will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption.
Training & Support
Toby is house and crate trained, but he dislikes his crate. He may have slight separation anxiety and would benefit from a companion animal or a consistent human presence.
