Doja is a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a heart of gold and a wonderfully chill energy. She's an easy companion to have around, always happy to meet new people and other dogs. Doja absolutely adores bigger dogs and would be thrilled to have a playful canine friend in her new home. While she hasn't lived with cats, she had a brief, positive encounter with them in a temporary foster home, showing interest but being easily redirected. With careful introductions, we believe she could learn to share her home with a cat-savvy feline. Doja came to us after her owner passed away and quickly became a beloved volunteer and playgroup favorite, helping staff assess new dogs and teach manners to younger pups. Her dog-loving nature was so evident, she even shared a suite with two doggy roommates! However, she surprised everyone by delivering a litter of puppies. Our dedicated vet team performed a life-saving emergency spay and provided her with intensive care. Doja recovered beautifully and was a fantastic mom to her two puppies, who have since found their forever homes. Now, it's Doja's turn to be the center of attention and receive all the love she deserves. She enjoys regular hikes and is a fun companion, even with smaller dogs. We haven't seen her with children yet but will update as we learn more. Doja is a fetch enthusiast, always ready for a game, though her foster mom limits it to a few minutes a day. She loves a good wrestle with her canine housemates and settles easily, exuding a calm vibe. Car rides are a joy for Doja, and she's a great traveler. She has excellent house manners, showing no destructive tendencies. While she can be a bit strong on leash initially, she does much better after a good fetch session. Doja is reliably potty trained and sleeps soundly through the night without any fuss. She hasn't shown any signs of separation anxiety and is comfortable being left loose in the house.
Ideal Home
Doja would thrive in a home with a yard for fetch or access to a nearby park. An active family that wants to include her in all their fun outings would be perfect for her.
Ongoing Health
