Brody

Meet Brody – a charming 5-year-old, 65-pound neutered male Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix who embodies the perfect blend of playful spirit and laid-back affection. Brody is currently enjoying life in a foster home in Houston, Texas, and is eagerly awaiting his chance to transport to his forever family once approved. He's a delightful goofball who balances a love for outdoor adventures with a talent for cozying up for Netflix and cuddles. Brody is known for his signature tongue-out smile and is happy to participate in holiday fun, as long as he's with his people.

Ideal Home

Brody thrives in a home with a secure backyard where he can enjoy some off-leash zoomies. He has done best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and prefers a relaxed playmate. Due to his size and energy, he might be a bit much for smaller or timid dogs. Brody would also be happy as the only canine companion, provided he has enough space to run. He's a gentle sweetheart with people and has done well with children. We recommend a home with older, dog-savvy children (ages 8-10+) who understand respectful interaction with dogs. Brody is not a good fit for homes with cats.

Ongoing Health

Brody is a healthy boy. All our dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered.

Training & Support

Brody is a smart, food-motivated boy who is eager to please. He walks calmly on a loose leash, is fully housebroken, and crate trained. He does wonderfully in his crate when left unsupervised. Brody loves his plush toys, though he does enjoy "customizing" their faces with enthusiastic chomps! He thrives with structure, consistency, and positive encouragement. While he can get a little excited around assertive male dogs, he continues to show great adaptability with calm guidance and positive experiences. He would do best in a home with experience with breeds like Cattle Dogs or Pitbulls, or other intelligent working breeds. Daily walks, light adventures, and mentally stimulating activities like scent work, agility, or obedience classes will keep his mind sharp and strengthen your bond.

Transportation

Brody is currently in Houston, Texas. Transports run every few weeks, and he will be placed on the next available transport once approved.
