Meet Steve's Champion Greyhounds. Salutations; I'm Steve Smith and I've owned my ranch in So California for 48 years. Dogs have been a hobby since the begining and I went to Greyhounds in 1985. It's my hobby to hand rase pups in a home environment. As you can see by the new pictures I have added Hungarian Greyhounds to my bloodline AKC recognizes them as greyhounds and I have very rare colors and this will be a new direction added to the old. To keep my bloodline active I breed an occasional litter. They all have been within a couple of ounces of one another. Females are smaller consistent with the breed. I prefer you pick them up, but I can, in some cases, depending on the airport, fly them as passengers. I don't like cargo shipping, but sometimes it can't be avoided. Usually it's around the same price to fly them as passengers yourself, as cargo rates are very high now. . I'm also retired and I can drive them to you in some cases. Your nickel. They are individuals and tend to bond to one favorite person. Loyal and attentive and some even become watch dogs. They like to assign themselves jobs. They are sight hounds and cannot be out without a leash. There are exceptions. Jack, Blue and JaJs sretrustworthy to walk out of the fenced areas and into my outback. I recently took in a new member that is a neutered female, which I had in the past boarded. Okopi is her name and she has a great mothering instinct although she's never had pups, she likes to play the part of auntie along with my other females. She is also very trustworthy and likes to go on walks. She likes to sleep on a bed under a cover.I will adopt her out to a good home that wants a mature 5-year-old. We have ambush predators around here which include wildcats and cougars. So Jack and Okopi are very special. Daytime only. They come back with me when I go on my daily walk. I do not crate and my fencing is in acres so as to restrict them as little as possible; so your getting a true representative of the breed. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask me. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual. I am pricing this litter at $1200 per pup, some will be higher,with all Breeding privileges. I also adapt out adults as they come to me. Whenever possible. I am also starting a Hungarian Greyhound bloodline and have brought in two females and a male from Budapest Hungary. They are very rare in the United States and I had the privilege to own one 40 years ago. They're very similar looking to the American Greyhound breed but they are a little bit sturdier, have slightly longer hair and their ears are noticeably larger. They were used in Hungary to hunt large game and they can be coursed for 5 or 10 miles as compared to a regular Greyhound which cannot do this.... Update.... OLIVE AND BLUE.parented sev nine pups. November 20,2024 I also have two cats in my atrium and my Greyhounds are all acquainted with them and they do not eat cats. However if you have a vicious cat or a cat that is very self-righteous the Greyhound will definitely rally to that and it will not be good.
