Gina is a 1-year-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix, weighing 56lbs. She was found abandoned as a tiny puppy, sleeping in a cardboard box by a busy road. Despite her rough start, she's now in a loving foster home and ready to find her forever family! Gina is a playful pup who enjoys tug-of-war with her smaller dog foster siblings. She can be a bit shy around unfamiliar, larger dogs due to a past negative experience, so slow introductions are key. She's currently thriving with small dogs under 15 lbs and large dogs over 75 lbs. Gina is a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. She also hasn't been around children, but given her size and tendency to jump when excited, a home with older, dog-savvy children (10+) would be ideal. Gina loves to collect her toys and is learning to play fetch, but is also happy to entertain herself. She's a smart, active girl who will thrive with an adopter who can provide plenty of exercise, socialization, and positive training.
Ideal Home
An active home that can provide daily play and enrichment. A family with older, dog-savvy children (10+) would be a great fit. A cat-free home is recommended. Ideally, another dog in the home would be beneficial for companionship and to help burn off energy.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can be crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She prefers to eat her treats alone and is in the "puppy velociraptor stage," so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew items. Positive training and regular socialization are highly recommended.
