Doll

Doll is a spirited and resilient 2-year-old, 38 lb Poodle mix who is ready to zoom into your heart! Doll's world turned upside down when she suddenly lost the use of her back legs. Sadly, her original family surrendered her, but thankfully, a rescue stepped in to give her a second chance. After thorough diagnostics, her condition remains a mystery, but what's clear is Doll's incredible will to live and thrive. She navigates her world with joy and a custom wheelchair, which will be included with her adoption. She loves to zoom around the yard and enjoys leisurely strolls in her stroller. Inside, she scoots around happily and entertains herself with toys. Doll is gentle and sweet with other dogs and has shown to be non-reactive towards cats. She also does wonderfully with older children, especially her teenage best friend who describes her as "incredibly gentle, loving, and full of joy."

Ideal Home

Doll will thrive in a home where her family is comfortable lifting her in and out of her wheelchair and stroller.

Ongoing Health

Doll requires regular bladder expression approximately four times a day, which is easily managed when she's in her wheelchair. She does not leak urine and does not require diapers. Her urine is typically solid, and she will bark to signal when she needs to go #2. She has not had any UTIs since being in foster care, but daily wiping down is recommended to prevent them. Her veterinarian believes her current thinness is due to muscle loss in her hindquarters.

Training & Support

Doll is working on her crate and house training. She is able to alert you when she needs to go to the bathroom.
