Jewel & Bowie (BONDED PAIR)

Meet Bowie and Jewel, the most charming bonded pair ready to bring double the love and cuddles into your life! Bowie, a distinguished 9-year-old Pug, and Jewel, a sweet 10-year-old Maltese, have been companions their whole lives and are eager to continue their journey together in a loving forever home.

Bowie is a gentle 32-pound gentleman with a signature head tilt that will steal your heart. He adores being close to his people and is often found by their side, Lamb Chop toy in tow, ready for a nap. Tiny Jewel, weighing just 6 pounds, is a little bundle of white fluff who loves to snuggle up with Bowie or in a warm lap. Her delightful prancing walk makes it look like she's dancing, and she's always ready with a kiss. These two are wonderfully social and friendly, getting along great with other dogs, enjoying new people, and have previously lived with children. They are affectionate companions who simply want to be where their humans are. Bowie and Jewel have excellent house manners; they are house-trained, signal when they need to go out, walk nicely on leash, and are great in the car. Their foster family describes them as some of the easiest dogs they've ever cared for. While they enjoy outdoor time and walks, they are happiest lounging on the couch, napping in sunbeams, and receiving affection.

Ideal Home

A quieter home with a securely fenced yard where they can safely explore and relax. They can be the only dogs or join a home with mellow small dogs. They would do best in a household with older, dog-savvy children aged 10 and up. While they haven't been tested with cats, they showed no reaction to a cat at the vet's office.

Ongoing Health

Bowie receives monthly Cytopoint injections for allergies and may occasionally need treatment for ear infections. He is currently on a homemade diet of ground beef, rice, and vegetables, as he may have sensitivities to poultry. He also has a few pounds to lose, so sticking to his portioned diet is important. Jewel is recovering well after treatment for Lyme disease and will be undergoing a dental procedure soon due to some loose teeth. She may be protective of her food due to her teeth. Both have excellent mobility.

Training & Support

Bowie and Jewel are well-mannered and house-trained. They walk nicely on leash and ride well in the car. They know a few commands. Commitment to meeting their grooming needs is essential, including regular brushing for Jewel to prevent matting, coat care for Bowie, nail trims, baths, ear cleaning, and professional grooming for Jewel. A willingness to continue Bowie's allergy and diet management or explore holistic alternatives is also needed, as is a commitment to meeting all future veterinary needs.
