Dixie is an 8-month-old husky mix weighing approximately 25 lbs, with the most captivating blue eyes! She and her mom were found wandering near a highway on a rainy day, unsure and darting through traffic. A kind Samaritan stopped and, with patience and food, managed to coax them to safety. While her mom, a spaniel mix, has found her forever home, Dixie is now looking for hers! We don't expect her to get very big, as her mom was only 30 lbs full-grown. Dixie is kennel trained and is learning commands, showing her intelligence and eagerness to please. She truly shines with one-on-one attention and is sure to master new skills quickly! She loves other dogs and gets along wonderfully with both small and large pups.
Ideal Home
Dixie is still learning to trust humans and would thrive in a home that is patient, understanding, and gentle. A resident dog would be a wonderful companion for her, helping her build confidence. If a canine sibling isn't an option, providing ample opportunities for playdates or doggy daycare would be a great way to help her socialize and flourish. She's discovering the joy of toys and loves to play!
Ongoing Health
Dixie is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, as well as flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She's also been dewormed and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian before transport.
Training & Support
Dixie is actively learning commands and is a very smart, eager learner. With consistent, gentle guidance, she will undoubtedly master them. Building her trust with humans is key, and a patient, loving environment will set her up for success.

Transportation
Dixie is currently located in Texas. We exclusively adopt pets to the Central US and East Coast, as we do not adopt within Texas due to the high euthanasia rates. The adoption fee of $525 includes transport from Texas to the locations listed below, with transports occurring every 2-3 weeks (specific areas may vary based on adopter demand):
