Merle Dawson is a truly special boy with a stunning merle coat, perfectly floppy ears, and captivating eyes, one icy blue and the other a beautiful caramel brown. He's a bundle of joy, always convinced that everyone he meets is his new best friend. Merle absolutely adores people, greeting them with a wagging tail and an infectious enthusiasm. He thrives on affection and loves being included in everything his humans do. He's been wonderful with children as young as 5, enjoying their playful energy and fitting right into family life.

Ideal Home

Merle would thrive in a semi-active home where he can be a constant companion and shadow to his people. He'd do best in a house with a big fenced yard rather than an apartment, giving him space to stretch his legs and play. While he can be dog-friendly with calm, easygoing female dogs, he truly shines and is most relaxed when he's the only dog, allowing him to be the center of attention.

Merle is a rescue and while believed to be around 5 years old and 47 lbs, his exact breed and age cannot be guaranteed.

Training & Support

Merle is treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He walks fairly well on a leash, only pulling when excited or wanting to greet a friend. He is working on basic commands like "sit" and will excel with additional training, which will be a wonderful bonding experience. He thrives with structure, routine, and consistency.

We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. An additional $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
