Meet Rey!

Rey is a thoughtful, almost five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix with a heart that beats strongest for bacon-scented fetch balls, cozy naps, and training games with tasty rewards. Her striking black and fawn coat and expressive eyes light up for treats, showcasing her clever and loyal nature. Rey is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows an impressive list of commands. She enjoys walks around the neighborhood and puzzle toys, thriving on a calm, predictable routine.

Ideal Home

Rey is best suited for a quiet, structured home with a caregiver experienced with anxious or reactive dogs. She is not suitable for homes with children or other pets.

Ongoing Health

Rey is currently taking daily fluoxetine to support her anxiety.

Training & Support

Rey's anxiety can manifest around unfamiliar people and dogs. While she settles quickly when left alone, she needs help managing greetings and personal space. Her current caregivers use leash management, positive reinforcement, and distance-based games to help her feel secure. Rey has a bite history, reacting defensively when startled or overwhelmed (e.g., when disturbed while sleeping or if food is taken). These incidents were not unprovoked. A full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant is included to help her settle in.
