Peony is the dog that just radiates sunshine! This girl is the happiest, wiggliest, most hilarious dog! Peony has never had a bad day and neither will her forever family because they get to soak up the silliness and love that Peony offers in abundance. She is a 5ish year old, 45lb staffie mix who has never met a stranger. She is fantastic with people, kids, dogs and cats. Truly, she is perfect! Peony LOVES people and will kiss and wiggle her way into everyone's hearts. Despite her exuberance for life, she is wonderful with toddlers and is gentle and loving. She is amazing with dogs of all sizes and can absolutely adjust her play style depending on the dog she's with. Our girl is also great with cats! She was fostered in a home with 2 cats and never cared to interact with them. Peony is truly a dream boat, the kind of dog that is happy anywhere. She sparks joy!
Ideal Home
Peony is a dog who really thrives on routine and structure. This means providing her with a lot of guidance inside and outside of the home, working on impulse control and settling inside the house, crate work, and proper exercise. When she's given this structure, she is absolutely wonderful. Without something to do, Peony can get overstimulated.
Ongoing Health
Peony is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be able to go to her forever home in mid-August.
Training & Support
Peony is still working on loose leash walking; she just loves life and wants to run all over the place. Peony's adopter should be dedicated to working with her on training. She has the foundation; she will just need consistency with her forever home! Our rescue sets adopters up for success with various training resources. Peony is potty trained, although please do expect an adjustment period, like with any new dog. She is crate trained and may cry for a few minutes but will settle in.

Transportation
All of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX. However, we work with trusted transport partners to transport our dogs to over 30 cities in the United States. Additionally, adopters are always encouraged to come to Houston to pick up the pup and bring them home. Once an adoption is confirmed, our team will work with you to determine the best transport schedule.
