Maya

Maya is a delightful, approximately 1-year-old Labrador mix, weighing around 30 lbs. She's a truly loving, intelligent, and playful girl who was rescued in March 2024. Maya is a social butterfly with people of all ages and other dogs, enjoying walks, runs, and plenty of affection. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, a little kindness and attention will have her melting in your arms. She's also dog and cat friendly, incredibly affectionate, docile, loyal, and full of joy. Maya is already crate and leash trained. She was rescued with her six siblings in the middle of a field.

Ideal Home

We're looking for homeowners with a fenced backyard who lead active lives and enjoy outdoor activities. Families with an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, who have experience with dog training, and who possess high tolerance and patience for rescued pups will be a perfect fit. Please be aware that Maya is not house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Maya has a comprehensive health protocol that includes being spayed/neutered, up-to-date on DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. She has also tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Maya is crate and leash trained. However, she is not house-trained, which will require patience and consistency in her new home. Remember that rescued animals may have had past traumas and will need time to adjust.

• A virtual meet and greet will be arranged.
• A trial adoption period will follow, with ongoing communication.

Transporation

Maya is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to your home address on the East Coast is available for an additional fee.
