About Shayla
Shayla is a 1-year-old gentle and easygoing girl with a calm presence and a sweet, quiet personality. She enjoys being around other dogs but is just as happy doing her own thing, whether that’s exploring the yard, sniffing around, or relaxing in a cozy spot. Shayla has a nice balance of energy. She enjoys short bursts of playtime like running with her dog friends or a quick game of tug, but she is usually the first to step away and settle down. She gets along well with other dogs of similar or larger size and has no issues meeting new dogs, often choosing to quietly observe rather than jump into the action. One of Shayla’s standout qualities is how well she fits into a home environment. She is great with cats and has lived peacefully alongside them, even playing gently at times. She has also been around a baby and older teens and has shown a calm, respectful demeanor, making her a wonderful addition to a variety of households. On leash, Shayla is mild-mannered and easy to walk. She may take a few minutes to get comfortable at the start, but she quickly settles in and enjoys her walks, especially when she has time to stop and sniff along the way. She does not pull and prefers a relaxed pace. Shayla is still working on her house training and may have occasional accidents as she adjusts, but she does well in a crate and benefits from having enrichment like long-lasting chews to keep her occupied. She is very passive with food, toys, and treats, and prefers to eat in her own space where she feels comfortable. She also finds comfort in relaxing music and settles beautifully when soft piano or spa music is playing. We are taking our best guess and recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed, and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time.
Ideal Home
Shayla would do best in a calm, loving home that appreciates her gentle nature and gives her time to settle in and build confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who will bring a peaceful presence to your home, Shayla could be the perfect fit.
