Aspen

Meet Aspen, a ~4-6 year old neutered male mixed breed dog, weighing about 21 lbs! Aspen was rescued from a difficult hoarding situation and is a very shy and nervous boy. He needs a gentle, patient adopter who will give him the time and space to decompress and learn to trust. Aspen does warm up with consistent reassurance and can even do a foster-to-adopt trial to ensure he's a good fit for your home! He is learning to be more confident and enjoys being around other dogs, so he would likely do best in a home with a canine companion to show him the ropes. Due to his timid nature, Aspen would prefer a home without young children, or with older children aged 10+ who understand how to give a dog space. A fenced yard would be a big plus for him, as he is still working on leash training and enjoys having a safe space to explore. Aspen is medically up to date.

Aspen would thrive in a calm and patient home with a resident dog. He would do best in a home with no young children, or with older children 10+ who understand how to respect a dog's space. A fenced yard is highly recommended.
