Hi, I'm Avaris, a 5-year-old pittie with a huge heart and a simple goal in life: to be as close to my people as possible! If you're looking for a cuddly "lap dog" (even if I don't quite fit!), I'm your guy. I just want to lay on you, lean into you, and feel safe and loved. I'm incredibly well-behaved in the home. I'm crate trained, potty trained, and I've never had an accident or chewed anything I shouldn't. I'm calm, loving, and just happy to be near my people. Inside, I'm playful, fun, and outgoing. Outside, I can be a little nervous with new noises and environments, but I gain confidence with time, and having another dog around really helps me feel brave and ready to play. I love meeting new people and get so excited when guests come over. I'm truly a lover at heart and just want to share that love with everyone I meet. My foster says, "Avaris is amazing. He is all of his pitty personality-he loves to love! He may look big, but he's actually small for his breed and age. He just wants to lay all over you and know he's safe." Ideal Home
My ideal home is one where someone is around often and ready for a loyal companion who will stick by their side. I'd do great with or without another dog, but a confident dog friend could help me continue building confidence outdoors. Our companions MUST live in your home as part of your family.
Ongoing Health
Avaris is Heartworm Positive. All dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, flea/heartworm prevention, and are microchipped prior to adoption.
Training & Support

- By filling out the MFP Adoption Application you agree and understand that adoption is not guaranteed.
- We are not first come, first served and submitting an application does not guarantee adoption.
- You will be contacted by an Adoption Coordinator once your application has gone through the approval process.
- Please ONLY APPLY IF you are ready to commit to adoption.
Transporation
Avaris is located in our care. We do not transport.
