Raquel

Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her paws! She came to us from a difficult hoarding situation with over 40 other dogs, where she didn't get the early socialization she needed. But don't let her past fool you – Raquel is a sweet girl who is incredibly eager to trust and learn. She can be a little unsure of new things at first, needing a moment to process, but she's making wonderful progress every day. Raquel is not a dog who is stuck in her ways; she is actively working on her confidence and will continue to blossom in the right environment.

Ideal Home

Raquel will be a large dog, potentially over 100 pounds, so her new home must be prepared for her size. A securely fenced yard is a must. While she is good with cats, we recommend a home with children over the age of 10, as she startles easily and is still building her confidence. She would thrive with a confident, friendly dog companion who can show her the ropes and help her learn.

Ongoing Health

Raquel is a healthy girl with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Since Raquel's early life didn't involve typical household experiences, she is still learning about indoor living, leash walking, and everyday routines. She's not a difficult dog, just inexperienced and a bit uncertain. Patience, a consistent routine, and a gentle approach will be key to helping her succeed.

Transporation

Raquel is located at our rescue in Cross Junction, VA. We offer transport to approved adopters within a reasonable distance.
