Meet Rio!

Rio is a charming 1-year-old, 19lb Chihuahua & Dachshund mix who has plenty of love to share. He might be a little shy at first, but with a little time and perhaps a tasty treat, his affectionate and loyal personality will truly shine. You might find him peeking out from under blankets or around corners, just wanting to catch your eye and share some love. Rio is a playful and sweet boy who gets along wonderfully with cats and other dogs. He does benefit from slow introductions to larger dogs to ensure he feels safe and comfortable.

Ideal Home

Rio would thrive in a calm home where he can feel secure. He would do best in a home without young children. A fenced-in yard is ideal for him to safely practice his leash walking skills. He would also love a home where he can have 24/7 access to his crate, as he enjoys it as his safe space.

Ongoing Health

Rio is currently healthy and has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Rio is potty trained and crate trained. He is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a patient adopter who can help him build confidence with consistent encouragement during walks.
