Piper is a bright, playful, and loyal Shihpoo who is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs 11 lbs. She's a beautiful white and cream color and is ready to learn and find her forever home! Piper was found as a stray and has been working with her foster family to adjust to indoor life. She's making great progress with potty training with a consistent routine and a dedicated human. Piper forms very strong bonds with her people, especially her foster dad. This deep attachment can sometimes make her protective of him, and she may growl, lunge, or snap at unfamiliar people approaching him. With continued training, positive socialization, and a structured environment, Piper will gain confidence and learn to feel more secure.
Piper loves to be active! She enjoys trips to the dog park and going for walks, though she could use a little more leash training. In the evenings, her playful spirit truly shines. She loves to romp with other dogs, chase toys, and her current favorite pastime is a spirited game of tail-chasing. Piper is affectionate, but she likes to offer her affection on her own terms. She's a wonderful companion who enjoys curling up in her bed near her human while they work. Grooming is a breeze with Piper; she loves baths, brushing, and the whole spa experience!
Ideal Home
Piper would do best in a home with adults only, either an individual or a couple, who can provide her with guidance, patience, and continued training. She would be happy as an only dog or with a small, friendly pack. Due to her size, she is not suitable for homes with children under 5.
Ongoing Health
Piper is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, on preventative, micro-chipped, and spayed.
Training & Support
Piper benefits from continued training, structure, and positive socialization to help her feel safe and confident. She may growl, lunge, or snap at unfamiliar people due to protectiveness. She will also need additional leash practice.
