Ongoing Health

All dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed/neutered and vaccinated before going to their new homes.

Training & Support

We are still learning about Genoa's training needs and any behaviors that may require extra support.

Application Details:

• Applications to adopt start by contacting us through Wags.
• All household members should be present to meet dogs, especially those under 18 and any key decision-makers.
• We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s) is required. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after allowing time for decompression for the shelter dog.

Transporation

Genoa is currently located at Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals until 7pm.
