After spending more than two months waiting in a shelter, Princess is finally getting the fresh start she deserves, but it is only temporary. This beautiful 3-year-old Heeler mix recently left the shelter and is settling into an emergency foster home, where she is already showing everyone what volunteers have known all along... that Princess is truly something special. Princess quickly became a volunteer favorite thanks to her sweet personality and genuine love for people. She consistently kept her kennel clean, appears to be house trained, and thrives on human companionship. Whether she's soaking up affection, joining you on an outing, or simply spending time by your side, Princess is happiest when she's with her people. We have also been pleasantly surprised by Princess's social skills with other dogs. She participated in multiple dog introductions at the shelter and displayed appropriate, non-aggressive behavior. She even attended community events, including local baseball games, where she handled crowds, noise, unfamiliar people, and other dogs beautifully. What we love most about Princess is her resilience. After months of uncertainty, she remains loving, trusting, and ready to give her whole heart to a family of her own. Princess's current foster home is only able to keep her for two weeks. Without a rescue or adoptive placement, she will have to return to the shelter, where she was previously the longest resident. Returning to the shelter would place Princess back at immediate risk, and we desperately want to prevent that from happening. Princess has waited long enough. Now she's looking for a soft place to land, a family to call her own, and a lifetime of love to make up for lost time. Could you be Princess's happily ever after?
