Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male hound/retriever mix. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to please and is always looking for cuddles. Comet was rescued from the streets and then saved from a county shelter. He's a resilient and adaptable dog who has made great strides in his foster home and is ready to find his forever family!

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home where he has a canine sibling to snuggle and play with. He has done well with indoor cats and kids, but due to his herding instinct, we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. He can be a bit wary of men, so a patient and consistent approach will help him come around.

Comet is a healthy boy with no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without issue and does not pull on the leash. He hasn't had any accidents in the house since being in foster care and will alert you when he needs to go outside. He does not appear to have separation anxiety, but he should be crated when unsupervised as he enjoys tasting things he shouldn't. Comet is eager to please and easy to train with positive reinforcement.

Transporation

Comet is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. He can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up, and transports run every few weeks.
