About Callie Nyx
Meet Callie Nyx: Chief Intelligence Officer, Herding Theorist, and Director of Household Operations (Self-Appointed, Occasionally Negotiable)
3 years old | 63 lbs | Border Collie (possibly Husky mix) Fully potty trained Dog & cat friendly Best with older, dog-savvy kids
There are dogs, and then there are...systems.
Callie Nyx is not merely a Border Collie (with what appears to be a hint of Husky mystique, courtesy of those startling, electric-blue eyes)-she is a fully integrated operating environment running joy.exe, strategy.dll, and an ever-present "we can improve this" subroutine. At three years old and 63 pounds, she exists at that rare intersection of brilliance and benevolence where everything she does feels both intentional and quietly comedic.
Like a philosopher who accidentally became an athlete, Callie observes the world and then gently attempts to optimize it. The living room becomes a study in movement. The yard, a laboratory for speed. The household itself? A collaborative ecosystem she is fairly certain she has been appointed to manage.
Cats are not prey. They are colleagues. She approaches them with the earnest enthusiasm of someone initiating a cross-functional partnership. Dogs? Ideal. Teammates. Fellow participants in well-structured joy.
Children? She is affectionate and genuinely fond of them, but as a herding breed with momentum and opinions, she is best suited for older, dog-savvy kids who can appreciate her brilliance without being gently reorganized by it.
Callie is fully potty trained-because standards exist, and she respects them.
The crate is a more nuanced relationship. She will go in with treats and encouragement, offering the mild, dignified protest of someone agreeing to terms she intends to renegotiate later. Leash skills are similarly in development-less a flaw, more a subject she has marked for future mastery.
And yet, what makes Callie Nyx unforgettable is not simply her intelligence or her striking, almost otherworldly beauty-it is her presence. She is affectionate in a way that subtly rearranges things. Your routines. Your mood. Your understanding of what companionship can feel like.
She does not demand the spotlight. She requests...inclusion.
Callie Nyx is not doing the most. She is simply operating at a higher level.
Adopt Callie Nyx. Because life may not need managing... ...but it does run more elegantly with her in it.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:
https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
