About Ari

Hi there! My name is Ari, but my friends call me R-Dog. I'm a stunning 3-year-old German Shepherd mix with just a hint of Doberman, giving me a sleek black coat, a slender figure, and the most adorable tan-tipped toes. And these ears? They're my absolute best feature – they help me hear all the good things in life, like the crinkle of a treat bag or the call of my favorite person! I'm a very affectionate and playful girl who loves to be the center of attention. My favorite activities include spa days (brushing, nail trims, and baths are pure bliss!), playing fetch in the yard, and anything involving water – a pond, a wading pool, or even a good mud puddle will make my heart sing. I'm looking for a special person to be my lifelong companion and best friend.

Ideal Home

I'd love a home with a yard where I can play fetch and maybe even help with some gardening. A wading pool would be the cherry on top of my happy life! While I'm not an aggressive dog, I can be a little wary of strangers. If you have guests over, I just need a safe space to retreat to until they leave, and I'll be perfectly content. I also prefer quiet walks and am not the most social butterfly when it comes to meeting other dogs on the street.

Ongoing Health

I'm a healthy girl!

Training & Support

I can be a bit nervous around new people, but I'm not aggressive and have never shown any inclination to nip. It stems from a difficult first year where I wasn't socialized as much as I should have been. With a little patience and understanding, I know I can be the best dog I can be. I also get a little anxious around other dogs when I get overly excited, so clear guidance and consistent leadership will help me navigate those interactions. I'm also a bit nervous about loud noises like big trucks and bird cannons, but I absolutely love my crate and feel safe there. Car rides can be a bit nerve-wracking, but I'm happy to ride in a crate in the car.
