Izzy

Izzy is a 12-year-old, 15-pound bundle of sweetness, shyness, gentleness, and humor. She came to us when her owner could no longer care for her, and she's been blossoming in foster care. Izzy was initially anxious and unsure, hiding to decompress and experiencing some tummy troubles. But with patience and love, she's come a long way! Now, she enjoys being in the same room as her humans, showing her affection with gentle head nudges and occasional kisses. She's incredibly food-motivated, with a funny habit of checking her empty bowl and a keen interest in any dropped kibble or enticing trash.

Ideal Home

Izzy would thrive in a patient and understanding home where she has ample time to decompress and adjust to new surroundings. She needs a gentle approach and will benefit from a consistent routine as she settles in.

Ongoing Health

Izzy experienced some tummy issues upon arrival, which have since resolved. She is a senior dog and will require ongoing care as she ages.

Training & Support

Izzy is potty trained and sleeps through the night in her crate. She may cry in the morning to let you know she needs to go out. While generally quiet, she can be skittish if approached too quickly. Her foster family describes her as a bit of a "food scavenger" and she might try to investigate the trash or beg for treats. She coexists peacefully with other dogs but isn't very interested in playing.
