Tilly is a beautiful Foxhound mix, estimated to be 6-7 years old and weighing around 52 lbs. This calm and loving girl is a true gem! She's crate-trained, potty-trained, and walks beautifully on leash. Tilly is also a fantastic boat dog! Her intelligence is remarkable; she can open doors and latches, and is a master at finding food on counters and in garbage cans when left unsupervised. She's very people-focused, super-affectionate, and eager to please, already knowing commands like come, sit, stay, down, and leave it. Tilly enjoys the company of other medium to large dogs and is an alpha female who will guard her food. She absolutely thrives at doggy daycare and the dog park, playing wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Tilly's journey began in northwest Georgia, where she was rescued from a difficult outdoor situation with frostbitten paws. She has since healed and is ready for her forever home!
Ideal Home
Tilly would do best in a home where someone is present for most of the day, as she can be destructive when left alone for extended periods. While she does well with other medium to large dogs, she's an alpha female and will protect her food, so feeding her in a crate is recommended. She has not been exposed to young children and we are recommending a home with respectful children ages 13+. A calm environment that allows for ample decompression time will help Tilly settle in and reward your devotion.
Ongoing Health
Tilly is generally healthy. Her past experience with cold weather resulted in frostbitten paws, but she has since healed.
Training & Support
Tilly is a smart girl with a love for pleasing her humans. She knows basic commands and is well-behaved on leash. Given her intelligence and past behavior when unsupervised, it's recommended she be crated when left alone to prevent destructive tendencies and to manage her food guarding with other dogs.
