Dutch

Meet Dutch, a happy, playful pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart! If there's fun to be had, Dutch is ready for it! He loves romping around with other dogs and will happily try to convince cats to join in the fun, even if they aren't quite as enthusiastic as he is. Dutch has plenty of energy and confidence when playing. Despite being much smaller than some of his canine friends, he holds his own with larger dogs and loves an active play session. He can be a little persistent when playtime is over and doesn't always catch subtle signals that another dog is finished, but when corrected, Dutch responds appropriately and will roll over in submission. He currently plays with dogs ranging from 55 to 67 pounds. Dutch has also shown interest in cats and wants very badly to play with them. When they run, he chases them, and when they hiss, he barks back, hoping they'll join his game. Dutch has been wonderful with children, showing gentleness and no aggression when meeting a 2-year-old. He hasn't had much leash experience yet, but he is eager to learn and highly trainable. He enjoys being with his people and would likely love going on walks and adventures with his future family. House training is still a work in progress, and Dutch can be a bit stubborn at times, but consistency and patience will help him continue making progress. He sleeps in a crate at night, usually settling down after a few minutes of protest, and he loves snuggling with his favorite stuffed animal, "Lamby." One of Dutch's best qualities is his sweet, easygoing nature around food and people. He shows no signs of food aggression, happily allows people near his food bowl, and is very food-motivated, making training easier. He loves toys, treats, and spending time with his humans. Dutch has a moderate-to-high energy level and would love a home where he can safely run and play. Whether the home is busy and active or a little calmer, Dutch adapts well as long as he's surrounded by love. If you're looking for a loyal, playful companion who adores people, loves making friends, and is always ready for the next adventure, Dutch may be the perfect addition to your family.

Ideal Home

Dutch would thrive in a home with another playful dog who enjoys having a buddy around. A dog that prefers peace and quiet may find Dutch's enthusiasm a bit much. He may do best with dog-savvy cats who are comfortable around active puppies. Dutch would likely do well with children of all ages. He would love a home with a yard where he can safely run and play.
