Arthur is a charming 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix who is bursting with personality and love. He was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter, where our hearts were instantly captured, and he's now thriving in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS. Arthur is a delightful blend of adventurous spirit and snuggle enthusiast, ready to be your loyal companion. He approaches each day with infectious enthusiasm and enjoys playtime, exploring new sights and sounds, and cherishing time with his favorite people.
Ideal Home
Arthur would thrive in a home that can offer regular exercise and structure. He enjoys being part of the family's daily adventures and would be happiest with people who love to include their canine companions in their activities. While he doesn't strictly need another dog to be happy, he has interacted well with dogs of various sizes and enjoys playing with them, demonstrating a good understanding of canine social cues. He has also been around cats and pot-bellied pigs with curiosity but no aggression. Arthur has spent time with young children and has done well, but due to his size and exuberance during play, he could accidentally knock over a small child. A family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm will be a great fit.

Training & Support
Arthur is a well-trained dog who is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He settles nicely in his crate and has shown he can stay comfortably for extended periods. He also rides beautifully in the car and absolutely lights up at the mention of a "car ride"! While Arthur may pull a bit on the leash initially during walks, he quickly settles into a routine and does well. Arthur is a lover of toys and enjoys soaking up attention and affection. He has a playful spirit and truly believes that "if he can fit, he can sit!"

- Our process includes a phone interview, a video call with the foster, a virtual home visit, and personal and vet reference checks.
